The 20-year-old woman who had been in critical condition since being struck by the compact car driven by 22-year-old Choi Won-jong, before he carried out a knife attack earlier this month, has succumed to her injuries, 25 days later.
Choi Won-jong, the suspect in the stabbing rampage in Bundang, Gyeonggi, last week, apologized to victims in front of media as police handed his case to prosecution on charges of murder Thursday.
While she didn't carry out the threat, she reportedly informed the police during her arrest that her actions were driven by a desire for revenge against Korean men, inspired by news of women being attacked by Choi Won-jong a week ago.
Police on Monday revealed the identity of the man behind last Thursday's stabbing attack near Seohyun Station in Bundang, Gyeonggi, as 22-year-old Choi Won-jong.
